How we vet every contractor in our network

We don't list contractors who couldn't pass our background check. Here's exactly what every pro has to clear before they get a single lead.

The vetting standard

Every contractor in the DallasFlooring network has to clear all nine of these before they receive their first lead — and stay clear of them to keep receiving leads.

  • Verified business entity

Active Texas LLC or Corp in good standing with the Secretary of State. EIN on file. Physical business address verified — not just a P.O. box.

  • General liability insurance

$1M minimum for residential work, $2M minimum for commercial. Certificate of insurance on file and tracked for expiration so it never lapses on your job.

  • Workers comp coverage

Required for any contractor with employees. Verified directly through their carrier. Protects you from liability if a crew member is hurt on your property.

  • Minimum 3 years in business

Under current ownership. No fly-by-night operators that close shop the moment a warranty claim shows up.

  • 3 verified customer references

We actually pick up the phone and call past customers. We confirm the scope, quality, and pricing matches what the contractor told us.

  • Clean BBB record

No unresolved complaints. We check before onboarding and recheck every 12 months. New complaints trigger a review.

  • Background check on principal owner

No fraud or contractor-related convictions. Run before the first lead is ever delivered.

  • Specialty certifications where required

IICRC for cleaning and restoration. Texas Mold Remediation License for mold work. EPA Lead-Safe (RRP) for pre-1978 homes. NWFA preferred for hardwood install and refinishing.

  • Signed DallasFlooring Pro Agreement

Response time commitments, customer service standards, and dispute resolution terms — in writing, signed, on file.

Vetting doesn't stop at onboarding

Getting in is the easy part. Staying in is the hard part. Every contractor in our network has to keep clearing the bar on every job:

  • Maintain a 4.0+ customer rating on our post-job survey
  • Hit 80%+ on-time first-contact response — we track every lead
  • Insurance kept current — auto-flagged at expiration
  • One unresolved complaint = mandatory review. A pattern = removed from the network.

Why this matters

Most lead sites you've heard of will sell your project to anyone who shows up with a credit card. No business verification, no insurance check, no references. You submit your info; five contractors get your phone number; whoever calls fastest wins, regardless of whether they're any good.

We built DallasFlooring to do the opposite. We charge contractors more per lead and we deliver each lead to exactly one of them — which means we can afford to be selective about who we let in, and they can afford to do good work for a fair price. Vetting isn't marketing copy for us. It's the whole product.
